The New Do…

on August 26, 2012

When Hubby and I got back from our Alaskan vaca, the first thing out of LB2’s mouth was “Mommy! I want a haircut”

Literally, it was either the first or second thing she said when we stepped off the plane and found them waiting in the airport for us.  No “Hi how are ya”, or” how was your trip” or “I wish you’d go back”…  None of those, but only an exclamation involving a haircut. Huh.

In all fairness, I don’t usually only have her hair cut once a year.  And I bet you can guess what time of year that takes place — you guessed it, at the end of the summer, right before the new school year starts.  I guess I’ll have to do a little bit better than that from now on since she’s actually asking… no, begging for a haircut.  Her very first haircut wasn’t until she was 5 and about to begin Kindergarten.  I just like the long hair.  Sigh.  You can put it up in a braid, pigtails, hairbows of many shapes and sizes…  Those days are gone, I suppose, since she now wants a short hairdo.  She wanted to go from hair halfway down her back, to the bottom of her ears!!  Well, I just couldn’t let her hair get cut that short, but we still went pretty short.

So, once we got home and unpacked our bags, I decided to call and make her an appt to get her hair cut.  The day I was going to call, I sat down to first check my email.  And Lo and Behold, there it was right in my inbox!

Free Kids Haircuts during the month of August! A promotion they are doing at JCPenney’s everywhere!

Here’s the link in case you want to take advantage of THAT deal (you totally should — it’s FREE!)

Okay, so I made the free haircut appointment and off we went to chop her hair off — excuse me, I mean get a haircut.

As you can see, she’s extremely excited!  I think the stylist was trying to stay out of the picture; hahaha, not on my watch!

The first snip. She was a tad bit nervous, but still excited (her words) LOL.
